Cycle #19
So for this cycle I'm starting back on Metformin. This time I'm doing the XR and it has been rough. I don't remember having this much of an issue on the regular Met. I'm only taking 250MG and I gradually easing myself into it. The first night was 500MG and was not a fun night at all, it was awful. I'm sure it didn't help I took it with pasta. Anywho, I know what I need to do, I need to lose weight and eat better and take this medicine. My side effects of PCOS are out of control so I need to take control. It's crazy how this has all popped up recently after not taking anything since Dec of 09. I need to talk more with Dr. Max so I can figure out how to control some of the side effects of PCOS. I've been reading a lot on the soulcyster.com website and learning some secrets. I'm going to start temping tomorrow and will increase the Metformin XR in a week or so. I'm taking things slow this time, changing my thinking, diet and body. PCOS will not beat me!!

A new start!
It's been a while since I posted, in January 2010 we had been trying for two years to have a baby. In December of 09 we did the last double IUI with injections, it didn't work so I gave everything up. I stopped taking all meds even my prenatal vitamins and didn't go back to the RE Dr. S. I was so upset I hadn't gotten one BFP at all in the past two years. I was not ready to do anything until recently. I needed to have my yearly appointment anyways and decided I'd go back to the drawing boards with my regular, since I was 16 years old OB, Dr. Max.
So here I go on April 2nd to see my awesome OB, he did a very through exam. Physically everything felt normal. He asked me to let him know what has gone on the past year in 2009. I explained our 5 more Clomid cycles only responding to 3 and having the other two cancelled. Two at 100mg and three at 200mg with one last injections IUI cycle. He was shocked with all we have been though in the last 2 years. He really listened and was genuinely concerned and upset for us. He was also very shocked Dr. S had me on 200MG of clomid after all the Clomid I had already taken. He said only once in his 27 years he had a patient that had been on 200mg. He wanted to do an ultrasound due to all the clomid and to see what's going on in there. I have been officially diagnosed with PCOS, on the ultrasound he said my right ovary is more PCOS than my left but yes it does look like PCOS. He suggested I go back on Metformin, I asked for the extended release version and he wrote me a RX. He also wanted my testosterone, pituitary and thyroid checked. I gave 6 tubes of blood to be tested. Metformin would take 3 months before I see a change if any and he wants me to start taking my temp again. I will start Provera soon to end my 106 day cycle and start the Metformin with my new cycle. I pray that this will make me ovulate on my own that would be wonderful. He said to give it 6 months and we will see what my body does. No more Clomid for right now. Feel very positive after my check up with him and excited to have an answer even if it is PCOS at least I can do something to try to treat it. Stay tuned.....
