IUI #1 = Bust!
Today is cycle day 2 and I called the dr office all morning and in the afternoon and no one answered, I left a message and no one returned it. I have no idea why, they are suppose to open at 8am and I don't think it's a holiday. I hope I can get a hold of them tomorrow, I always start clomid on CD 3. I've decided a couple things this time around. I have heard pineapple is suppose to help with implantation and to start eating it the day of the IUI, at this point why not. I'm also going to ask about full blood work, since no one has done that at all during this journey. I am also going to give up taking my temperature and try really, really, really hard to relax more. However, it's next to impossible. They say if IUI is going to work for a couple it should work in three chances, here is to lucky #2!!

In the two week wait!
I could feel when the egg or eggs were released, it was a sharp pain right around 10:30am. About 2 hours after the procedure. And now the wait begins 14 WHOLE days!!! I don't know how I'm going to do it. I don't think I can bring myself to test out the trigger shot, I think I'll wait 12 days past IUI and see how I'm feeling, I'm praying so hard this works!!!! Wish us luck :)

In the begining
Welcome to my blog, this is a way for me to write about what's been going on with us and our journey for our baby.
All the way back to middle school, nothing with my cycles were normal. I figured I would have problems later in life when it was time to have a baby. Jonathan and I talked about children before marriage while we were engaged and knew we wanted to be parents. After a year of being married we decided to start trying. We did not know what to expect maybe it would be easier than I anticipated or more difficult.
On January 22, 2008 I took my last BCP and started prenatal vitamins, we decided we would see what happens. Shockingly (not) I was right. My first cycle lasted for 61 days, I had to start taking provera on cycle day 47 just to end it. Dr. Max decided we would give it one more shot non medicated and that cycle lasted 79 days, with provera started on cycle day 65 to bring it to an end.
After consulting with Dr. Max, Jonathan and I decided Clomid would be next. Clomid is a fertility drug that makes a person ovulate, which I didn't do on my own. My third cycle started on May 22nd, 08 with my first dose of 50mg of Clomid, I finally ovulated (for the first time). My fourth and fifth were the same, ovulation tests and temperature taking every morning and still no baby. In the meantime Jonathan had two semen analysis tests, results were one low and the second was normal. I also had a HSG and both tubes were open and clear. For my sixth cycle Dr. Max decided to step it up to 100mg of Clomid. The medicine was still working, fifth and sixth cycles more ovulation tests and temperature taking every morning and still no baby. Good news is I'm having regular 30-34 day cycles for the first time ever. In December 2008 we exhausted our 6 cycles with Clomid and we were then referred to an Infertility Specialist.
On January 14th 2009 we had our first appointment with Dr. Slackman, everything went really well. Physical exam checked out good and everything seemed somewhat normal. My body makes eggs we just have to convince them to come out. After talking with him we decided on doing 3 or 4 IUI (Intrauterine Insemination) cycles with clomid (because it works for me) and a HCG trigger shot just before ovulation all while being monitored by ultrasound every few days. If those don't work we will move onto IVF, which luckily we are covered 100% by our health insurance.
Of course I am on a non medicated cycle and currently on cycle day 30 with no ovulation in sight, still temping every morning. I have a prescription to take provera to bring an end to this cycle and then we start our first IUI in February. I am really excited about it, not nervous yet anyways. And that brings us up to date. Praying 2009 is our year!
