IUI #2 take two!

Finally 52 days later our cancelled IUI cycle is over. I went to the doctor this morning I had no cysts so he prescribed me 200mg of Clomid. He gave me the warning of how that's a lot of Clomid and normally 150mg is the most some doctors prescribe. He continued to say has been doing this for years and some women need the stronger dosage. He believes I am one of those women. Our follow up appointment is for May 13th. I pray we get good news this time. I have the meds all ready once we get the ok. Yay!

IUI #2- No Go!

GRRRR.... $153.00 later and out of pocket mind you, we had to cancel this IUI. We went last Friday the 20th and had one mature follie at 11mm on the left. Dr said if it didn't mature we would probably have to cancel this IUI. Thinking to myself I had read follies are suppose to grow 2.2mm a day and I figured by Tuesday the 24th when we are scheduled go back it will be way past 16mm. Again, like usual I was wrong. He said nothing changed at all on either side. So this cycle we had to cancel and now I wait a couple weeks and hope my period comes along and then we start over. This time he will up my clomid to 150mg. I have the ovidrel shot so I don't have to spend another $45.00 on that. Who knew just trying to get pregnant would be so frustrating. I shed a few tears, the first time I have done that since we started trying in January of 08. There goes my baby wish for Christmas. I guess ya do what you gotta do if you want something bad enough and boy do I ever!

Mid Cycle Check Up

We had our mid cycle check up yesterday at 8:30am. I was hoping for good news like we got last cycle. We only have one dominate follie on my left side at 11mm. He said we have lots of little eggs in there just none mature enough. We made an appointment to come back on tuesday the 24th to check and hope the little follie has matured enough to sustain a pregnancy. If it is over 16mm we will trigger that night and then schedule the procedure on thursday. I have now run into an issue at work. That day already has 3 people off, if I take off I will get an occurrence, but I was so uncomfortable and miserable last time I’m afraid I will feel that way again. So I'm going to see tuesday if everything is a go if maybe we could schedule it later in the day on thursday. I also asked the dr how he felt about progesterone since Clomid thins the lining of the uterus and progesterone helps it grow. He felt that would be a good idea for me so he prescribed me Endometrin to start after I ovulate. That makes me feel good and I pray hard that will help with implantation. The dr also said if the follie is not mature enough we won't be able to do the IUI this cycle and he will up my Clomid to 150mg for the next try. So we will see, it depends on how tuesday goes! I'm praying we get really good news!

IUI #1 = Bust!

Well I think the title says it all. I didn't have high hopes since hubby left the same day of the IUI, but gees 80mil and 2 mature eggs what else are we missing?? I'm frustrated and constantly wondering why is this so hard? In my eyes it's amazing anyone gets pregnant. Do I want it to bad, is that the problem? I just can't figure it out and I know I'm not suppose to right now.

Today is cycle day 2 and I called the dr office all morning and in the afternoon and no one answered, I left a message and no one returned it. I have no idea why, they are suppose to open at 8am and I don't think it's a holiday. I hope I can get a hold of them tomorrow, I always start clomid on CD 3. I've decided a couple things this time around. I have heard pineapple is suppose to help with implantation and to start eating it the day of the IUI, at this point why not. I'm also going to ask about full blood work, since no one has done that at all during this journey. I am also going to give up taking my temperature and try really, really, really hard to relax more. However, it's next to impossible. They say if IUI is going to work for a couple it should work in three chances, here is to lucky #2!!

In the two week wait!

So this past Tuesday on February 17th we went to the RE to see how things are going. I had two follies both on the right side one measured 16mm and the second 17mm. Good news they are both a go for this cycle. My HCG shot of Ovidrel came in the mail and Jonathan gave me the trigger shot that evening to insured ovulation in about 36 hours. We were scheduled to be at the doctor's office at 8am on Thursday the 19th. Jonathan's sample was great 80mil post wash and excellent motility. He was so proud, too cute! The procedure was done around 8:40ish and I laid on the table for about 15min. We came home and I was sad he had to leave 45 min later to go out of town. I was in more pain than I thought I would be and of course didn't have any Tylenol in the house. Good news is Mom came over that evening brought me dinner, ice cream and Tylenol!
I could feel when the egg or eggs were released, it was a sharp pain right around 10:30am. About 2 hours after the procedure. And now the wait begins 14 WHOLE days!!! I don't know how I'm going to do it. I don't think I can bring myself to test out the trigger shot, I think I'll wait 12 days past IUI and see how I'm feeling, I'm praying so hard this works!!!! Wish us luck :)

Finally our first shot!

Well after 10 days of provera and then 6 more days waiting I finally woke up with my period this morning, woke me up at 5:00am. I was told to call the specialist on my first day, so I did right before work and to my surprise they wanted to see me today for my first ultrasound and to set up the plan. Everything went fine at the appointment, I have been put back on Clomid cycle days 3-7 so I start that prescription Sunday. We have an appointment to come back on February 18th for another ultrasound to check the growth of the eggs. The dr looks for at least one to be mature (being over 16mm) and if it or they are I will take a trigger shot of Ovidrel to trigger ovulation and then come back two days later with my hubby to do the procedure!

I am soooooo excited, I logged onto fertilityfriend.com tonight and saw a girl that had been trying since January 08, had her first IUI clomid, trigger cycle and got a BFP (big fat positive)!!!

Gives me hope!

Waiting game..

Well as of Wednesday the 21st I started my 10 day prescription of Provera. Last two times I took it, my period came 5 days later so now I'm just waiting. I'm expecting it to come around February 5th and then I can call the dr and schedule our first ultrasound to watch em grow. I'm still so positive and excited about our IUI chances. After reading others that have been through it, it's not that bad and they say it's nothing like a HSG. Which is by far the worse pain I have ever felt, the catheter tube is more flexible and smaller which is great to know. Oh and exciting news. Last year I was spending 20.00 each cycle on 20 test strips to detect ovulation. Well I was searching out on ebay and found a seller that was selling 50 ovulation test strips and 10 pregnancy strips with shipping all for 18.00. That ought to last 2 or 3 cycles. I was so excited and they came in the mail today. I'm going to be a POAS aholic! :)
